To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

I have been waiting to read this book for a while and I finally got my hands on it this October when I went to Canada. Before even reading it I knew I would love it because Jenny Han has never ever disappointed me. I love her as an author. Han just has an amazing way of writing these incredible stories that impact people and go straight to the heart. She's just so incredible and so are her stories!

"To All the Boys I've Loved Before" is about Lara Jean Covey. She writes love letters to all the boys she's ever loved. 5 guys in total. Her intention is not for the boys to read these letters. They are for herself. It's her way of getting over someone. So she keeps these letters in a hat box, her deceased mother gave her. Although one day, the hat box is gone and so are the love letters. Mysteriously, they have been sent out to all the boys Lara Jean has ever loved. Now this is when the chaos begins.

First of all, this novel was not what I expected. I was surprised by many of the events that occurred. They were so much better than what I could ever have imagined. I was excited all throughout this novel. I kept going on and on, and if it wasn't for my life getting in the way, I probably would have finished it within hours. That's how great it is! Jenny Han catches her readers from the very beginning.

I really enjoyed the fact that this novel was not just about boys and love. It was also about family. The bond between sisters. The Covey's are an amazing family that manages to carry on even when they are struck by grief. Han shows us that a family can get through anything through teamwork. What really touched me were all the sacrifices the different characters made in order to not hurt one another. That is so beautiful because it shows how much everyone loves and cares about each other  especially when the bond between Lara Jean and her older sister, Margot, is put to the test. Kitty, the younger sister, is only 9 years old, but she's hilarious and so smart. Jenny Han does a great job describing the relationships between Lara Jean and all of her sisters.

Then to the part that is about boys and love. I loved Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky's "love story". From the first time we encounter Peter and to the part where Lara Jean attacks him in the school hallway. It was so cute! There were so many small, but at the same time epic moments between the two that almost made me die. My heart was in knots reading about the entire drama that is Josh Sanderson, Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky. It is all so incredibly messed up! Yet so entertaining.

I honestly can't wait to read the second novel, "P.S. I Still Love You". It's a pleasure to follow the story of the Song girls and Lara Jean's messed up boy drama.
