"Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban" by J. K. Rowling
In the third book of the Harry Potter series, everyone is on edge because the magician Sirius Black has escaped Azkaban. This is a prison for the worst criminals and no one has escaped before. The word is that Sirius Black is an ally of Lord Voldemort and he is after Harry Potter. At Hogwarts, security measures are taken seriously as dementors are gatekeeping the school on lookout for Sirius Black. Meanwhile, Harry is happy being back at Hogwarts. While focusing on his good friends and playing quidditch, he also stays attentive to the possible threat of Sirius Black. Harry also learns more about his parents and their past.
I believe that this is the best Harry Potter book I have read so far. I like the first two as well, but this one was even more entertaining and very fast-paced. The last 100 pages had me on edge even though I've already watched the movies. The book has so much. There's danger, paranoia, secrets, time travel, and much more! I think J. K. Rowling has a great and enticing writing style which really draws me in. It's incredible that she managed to write so much on so little space.
Whenever I read a Harry Potter book, I always feel bad for Harry because of his family history. It is so tragic to me that Harry never grew up with his parents and that he had to live with the awful Dursleys. However, what is beautiful is Harry's chosen family. The Weasley's treat him like their own kid even though they already have a bunch. Ron and Hermione are his very best friends and they always love and protect each other. At Hogwarts, Harry also has Hagrid and Dumbledore. Despite him not having siblings or parents, he still experiences the warmth of family from people who just love Harry for who he is. That is beautiful and touching!
Honestly, it's been a month since I finished the book so I don't think I have much more to say. I just remember that I really enjoyed reading it and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
